LabWindows/CVI is the National Instruments ANSI C programming environment for test and measurement. It uses the same libraries and data acquisition modules used in their flagship product, LabVIEW.
As technical writer, I edited and maintained various parts of the online help system embedded in the software.
This is an excerpt from the LabWindows/CVI RT Module Help, explaining timing in deterministic applications.

The app displays the most "interesting" photos from Flickr on a given date. Flickr determines "interestingness" based on a number of factors, including: where clickthroughs are originating; who comments on it and when; who marks it as a favorite. Using the date-picker, the user selects a date and can display the search results in a grid or list format. Clicking on a given photo displays modal with a larger version of the photo and a link to the original on Flickr.
Users can search for photos on Flickr and articles on WikiVoyage for travel inspiration. The bxSlider carousel displays the photos and adapts to photos and viewports of different sizes. After creating an account, a user can favorite a result by clicking the heart. This saves it to a travel plan in their account.
The app displays a number of points of interest in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle using Google Maps. Using the search box, the user can limit results by business name or type. The app updates the list and markers as the user types. Clicking a button in the list will animate the appropriate marker. Clicking a marker will display details from Yelp.
This is a mock website that I developed to experiment with implementing transitions and animations in different ways. It compares the usefulness of CSS and JavaScript in different situations.
After logging in, the app displays a portal appropriate to the user's role: surplus goods donor, shipping space donor, or non-profit. In each portal, the user can either post to the site: surplus and shipping donors can post donations and non-profits can post to their wish list. Alternately users can search what's already been posted by other users to see if they can fulfill a need or claim a donation. For instance, a non-profit can search for "shoes" that can be delivered to "nigeria". The app can check if there's a match and return results that show Macy's has donated shoes and DHL has donated shipping service that can pick it up at Macy's and deliver it to Nigeria. Then the non-profit can claim that match and get their need fulfilled.
This website serves as a portfolio of work samples and an online CV. I used Bootstrap to implement a responsive layout combined with Sass for its power and modularity.
